March 20th, 2008Mahindra to build two Bikes in India! With Lifan motorcycles

Bear in mind the talks of Mahindra entering the Indian two-wheeler industry? This was around an year back but now Mahindra has sort of made it official that they will be working with Chinese two-wheeler major Chongqing Lifar and using the existing Hardwar plant to roll out bikes 250cc Delta cruiser & 125cc Warrior soon.

Lifan at present sells its two-wheelers in 105 countries. Sources added that Lifan has already procured a nod from ARAI (Pune) for its two-wheeler engines. Lifan does make a huge range of motorcycles, but then what can you wait for from a Chinese manufacturer?
Well, how will Mahindra and Lifan compete with the already low priced Indian bikes? The XCD sells for 41,000 exshowroom: a very good example of how Indian corporation are already making value for money bikes.. Only time will tell if this new pace in the Indian two-wheeler market will be victorious or not………
