Ninja 250 among the bikes to be retailed Bajaj and Kawasaki today announced an agreement to bring in Kawasaki big bikes into India. This is in continuation of their strong partnership from the mid 80’s when the first technical collaboration for motorcycle development was signed. This technical collaboration which continued since then went a step further in 2004 when Kawasaki commenced distributing Bajaj bikes in the Philippines.

Now the partners bring Kawasaki big bikes to India. Surrounded by the bikes being considered for launch is the recently launched Ninja 250. This product designed by Kawasaki for the United States, Europe and Japan is powered by an eight-valve DOHC liquid cooled 250 cc fuel injection engine developing 30 PS at 10,500 rpm. Combined with the 6-speed transmission the Ninja 250 is a matchless performer. In addition to the Ninja 250, other big Kawasaki bikes that are being considered for the domestic market were on display at the Bajaj Presentation in Hall no 3 at the Auto-Expo inside N. Delhi. These include the Sports Roadster the ER-6n, Super Sports bikes the Ninja ZX-6R and the Z1000, and the Vulcan Cruiser.

The Kawasaki bikes would be retailed through the chain of hi-end Bajaj Probiking showrooms. The company had kick-started the Probiking initiative in 2005 with the launch of the Pune showroom. Today ten Probiking showrooms are operational with presence in all major markets with ten more to go on-stream by end of economic 2008. intended for professional bikers the showrooms house state-of the art interactive terminals and offer prospective “Probikers” a chance to test-ride the bikes on specially designed Indoor Dynamometers. Kawasaki, Japan will also give the necessary service training and part back-up to ensure that the hi-performance bikes are in peak condition and fully live up to the expectations of the Probikers.

, President of the Kawasaki Consumer Products and Machinery Company comments, “India is a very important market for KHI and Bajaj Auto is a strong partner. The Indian market is in the cusp of progressing to big bikes and Kawasaki is highly regarded in this section. Soon the “flying K” and the “Kawasaki Green” will scorch the Indian roads.”

Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, and Bajaj Auto said, “Both Kawasaki and Bajaj have synergized their strengths to widen the selection in own markets. The family consumer can now experience the power of big biking while the Kawasaki customers in the Philippines are previously experiencing the range of Bajaj products for the past few years. We are in debate to extend the Philippine commerce model to other countries as well.”

Indian two wheeler major Bajaj Auto is likely to launch some new products this month. The company is likely to launch a new 125 cc bike which would be powered with their new DTS-Si technology based engine. The bike is likely to be named Exceed.

Bajaj Auto General Manager (Marketing) Amit Nandi said in a statement on their plans: “Bajaj will offer customers a value proposition much superior to the currently overpriced and under performing 100cc products with the launch of an all new bike with the DTS-Si engine next month.”

Bajaj claims that this new engine would enable the bike to give a fuel efficiency of 109 KM per liter under ideal test conditions.

Nandi added: “The DTS-Si engine is far superior to the conventional 4-stroke engines, which dominate the 100cc segment at present. With the new DTS-Si engine the consumer would not have to compromise between power and mileage - he gets the best of both.”

April 5th, 2008New Bajaj Pulsar Review

bajaj-pulsar.JPG

I am certain that after getting your heart pumping and your pulses racing with the above photos/pics, I be acquainted with this is going to be a unkind blow. But sorry , the photos posted above are actually of a modified Pulsar DTS-i 180..!!. And the most interesting fact is that, this piece of art has originated from Indonesia.

Indonesia, the third largest two-wheeler market in the world after China and India is basically a market dominated by step thru two wheelers. But like India there is also a niche category of Motorcycle enthusiasts. It is this section that Bajaj Auto is hoping to cater to with its Pulsar DTS-i 180 model which has been on sale in Indonesia since November 2006.

bajaj-pulsar1.JPG

The above modifications carried out on the Indonesian Pulsar DTSi 180 goes to show the common tastes that bikers in Indonesia and India share.

The following modifications have been carried out on the Indonesian Pulsar DTSi 180..

(1). Rear Disc Brakes (the original front brake has been used here)

(2). Integrated Turn indicators front/back

(3). Half Chain Cover (Finished in “Carbon Fibre” look)

(4). Upside Down front forks

(5). Monoshock at the rear

(6). Tank Shrouds to give the bike a “Big” feel

(7). Oversized front Disc Brakes

(8). A Custom Paint Job

(9). 110 section front/120 section rear, Bridgestone tyres

(10). Split Rear Grab Rails (Finished in “Carbon Fibre” look)

(11). Removable Pillion Seat Cover (Finished in “Carbon Fibre” look)

Details of Modifications

From the pictures the order of workmanship seems to be expert and of high order. Upside Down forks, Monoshock, a Big Sharp Sculpted tank, special colors..?? And how about a FEAR THE “CARBON FIBRE BLACK” LOOKS for the Pulsar UG IV..?? The mods were carried out by “Caprin Racing” of Surabaya, Indonesia. The total cost incurred for the entire modifications separately from the donor bike was around Rs. 40,000-42,000 (Indian Currency).

pulsar-300cc.jpg

During a change about new bikes in India, my friend was talking about Bajaj, India’s largest and world fourth largest two wheeler manufacturer revolutionary in India. Frankly speaking I am no fan of Bajaj Products I always believe in companies like TVS, Yamaha and Honda when it comes to biking.

Talking about my friend who alerted me about Bajaj’s upcoming let go of a new powerful biking which is almost certainly the BAJAJ PULSAR 300CC. At first it was 100CC then 120,150,180,200 and now its 220cc.

So now a 300 cc bike for Indian roads? Are we power drivers? Already Price of fuel is sky rocketing while traffic in parallel increases. Soon I went through a research over internet about Bajaj launching the new 300cc bike to corroborate the news.

At last I finished it is PURELY HOAX. Bajaj has formally not announced any plans to launch 300cc right now in India. So if you come across any news about it then it’s completely one of false gossips. Above is the picture of Virtual stimulated photography of Pulsar claiming to be 300cc bike from Bajaj?

Lastly guys please don’t offend me I don’t like Bajaj products due to their constant discontinuation of vehicle models. Some of examples are they cease Sunny, Chetak, Cub, Super, Wave, Legend, Bravo, Eliminator, Wind 125, Kawasaki 4s Champion, Kawasaki KB 100 RTZ, Boxer and Caliber. No news at all about cutting edge and Sonic.

Do anyone ever thanked about the customers using the above model vehicles? Are they assured with any ease of use of Spare parts? So I more often than not depend on TVS and other companies! Although many companies constantly stop vehicles when they are out of fashion but Bajaj has a main list.
